Supplemental Training Programs Personal Best: This brand new training package is lead & directed by All-American Runner, Assistant Coach Keith Solverson, for people training for higher goals. If you’re looking to knock big chunks of time off of your PR, qualify for Boston, win your age groups, or just want another coached workout during the week… Your goals require a bigger commitment, so your training should too. This supplemental package will be in addition to the regular/current Runner’s Edge membership and will include:
Speedwork: Tuesday morning or evening workouts (only offered at Noon during the Winter Session) focused on improving cardio, strength, speed and technique for distance runners. Special emphasis will be given to individual training during these workouts, form coaching, race pace strategy, etc., and a minimum average base of 20-25 miles per week is recommended. Workouts will be held at a variety of central locations including hills, parks and tracks. Each workout is approx. 80-110 minutes in length. (AM workouts begin at 5:30-6:00am and PM workouts begin at 6:00-6:30pm.) Core Camp: Runner-specific Thursday morning strength and conditioning classes lead by Personal Trainer and Runner's Edge member, Melissa Levy. Elements of yoga, plyometrics and core/strengthening boot-camp will be used to aid runners in building core strength and will work in conjunction with running training programs.
